  FRÈRES ESQUIVILLON ET DE CHOUDENS. A GOLD AND ENAMEL PAIR CASED POCKET WATCH. Gilded full plate, rare very early movement with cylinder escapement. Pierced and engraved balance cock, large ruby endstone, signed and numbered fs Esquivillon & de Choudens. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute track, signed frés Esquivillon & de Choudens. Decorated original baroque hands – gold coloured. Diamonds around the dial on the case (some missing). 18-20k solid gold case. The hinge is fine and the bezel closes correctly. The high dome crystal is fine. 37 x 22 mm. 18-20k solid gold case with beautiful and extraordinary design. The enamel depicts a cheerful young lady Princesse de Lamballe, née Marie-Thérèse de Savoie-Carignan (slight wear on the enamel) – a masterful picture framed by diamond chips and set gold foil in which are also diamond chips. The case can be opened via a gem button. The hinge and catch are fine, the button is good and the bezel closes correctly. Wonderful watch with multicolor gold case, fine case with beautiful and extraordinary design. In good condition and running well. By a little winding it start immediately! The watch comes with original antique box / old key. 67,6 g / 43mm x 24,6 mm thick. Magnificent Les Frères Esquivillon & De Choudens Watch.   I strive to deliver 5 star customer service. Lovely gold mid 1700s quality london repousee pair cased verge fusee. At least 18k solid gold cases almost 50 mm diameter across the outer case not including the box hinge gold button is dented but works fine with the lock wonderful scene in repousee reclining seated woman with cornucopia in her left hand with perhaps a key? In her right & a lions head below cherub? Movement latch protrudes through the dial below the 6 very pretty fire gilded movement with fusee & chain with a verge escapement worm wheel set up under the main spring barrel signed Wm Bathe Bristol # 396 he is listed in my baillle’s circa 1751 inside the inner case looks to be hall marked for london 1755 bright mirror finished screws very fine filigree on the balance cock over the balance wheel perimeter key set from the front / key wind from the rear (if you need a key please ask:-) in good running order though i have not checked it for timekeeping a real pleasure to handle such a quality piece of antique mechanical art a wonderful example for the enthusiast to enjoy!   Georgian Pair Case pocket watch with full matching Sterling Silver Hall Marks on both cases for Birmingham 1820, the movement is a fine early key wind and set chain driven Fusee Lever escapement by Matthew Ord of Hexham, No. 5359, it has a elaborately decorated balance cock with a nice Ruby end stone and original dust cover, it is unserviced, but I suspect that its had a major over hall at some point, as its a very clean and strong runner, it has a creamy white dial with black Roman numerals, second sub dial, and Gold spade and pocker hands, it is in pristine condition, marked “Improved Patent”, both cases are tight fitting and also in pristine condition showing very little signs of wear, and measuring approx.   18th century english pocket watch. Signed key wind Movement by benjamin sidey, London, model no. Dial: later white enamel, with black Roman numerals, 5 minute markers, fleur-de-lis hands. Inner case: plain polished Gilt Sterling, bearing english hallmarks for London (leopard’s head), sterling (lion), maker IW, date letter O for 1771, measures 41mm, has glass crystal. (there is a piece of paper that says Benj sidey 1769 inside the outer case, that date may be for the movement). Outer case: ornate gilt silver, featuring repousse mythological scene with two figures within a scrolling framework, measures 47.5mm. As is condition, no key, we don’t know if it works, the outer case has some wear to the gilt finish on the high points, was in storage for many years, previously owned, from the collection of a local pocket watch collector. Any payments received for orders on those days will be processed on the following Tuesday afternoon. Our regular brick and mortar store hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 12 noon to 6pm.   HIGH QUALITY VERGE FUSEE, 1805, PAIR CASE, SMALL SECONDS DIAL & STOP- WATCH FOR DOCTOR. This antique Master Piece has to be seen, and heard and felt in your hands to fully appreciate it. It is absolutely perfect in every way. Even though it is 217 Years old, from 1805! Naturally the BIG and HIGH QUALITY VERGE FUSEE MOVEMENT RUNS STRONGLY. The Watch is oversized at 58 mm and it has two cases. Both inner-& outer Case is Guided on solid Silver. Unusually for the Time of Napoleon, this Pocket Watch is equipped with a small Seconds Hand and Sub-dial at the 6 oClock position. Note that Verge movements have gear ratios that doesn’t allow to just put Seconds Hand on the third wheel. Usually the third wheel doesn’t make one Turn per 60 seconds. It need to make special Effort and Calculations, to make Gears that make one Turn in 60 Seconds. It is very rare to see Second Hand on Verges of this Time! This pocket watch was especially made for a Doctor and it also has a STOP FUNCTION. Possibly many Doctors have inherited this precious and expensive Watch and used it at their services. The Mainspring has been fully wound more than 24 hours ago and it is still running with CA 30minutes late.. This is truely to be expected from a Verge Fusee Watch of that Age! The Large DIAL is in Good Condition. Expert Advice explained that the dial may have been replaced around 1880 with this flat dial. It has Large Roman Numerals. The CONVEX GLASS above it, is also in excellent condition. So is the seconds sub-dial and hand. Just like the finest and hardened Watch Hands. Please examine the Fotos as they are part of the description. On the Guilded Backcover is a ornate engraving what looks like a C T K entwined. The inner and outer Case opens and shuts well. Care is necessary not to touch the little leaver of the Stop watch mechanism on the side of the inner Case. From the inner Case the Mainspring is wound and from the Front at the centre of the Hands the watch is Set for the right time. Yes, the Watch needs very gentle Hands, but than again it has survived perfectly for almost 220 Years. Thank you for watching and looking at my item.
