We have a pristine 1899 Elgin seventeen jewels, eighteen size stem wind and lever set antique pocket watch with a heavy nickel case, recently restored and serviced and in fine looking & running condition. The pristine Grade 249, Model 4 seventeen ruby jewels 18 size full plate adjusted movement has a safety pinion, a Moseley micrometric regulator, a Breguet hairspring, an engraved balance arm and fancy lettering. It was professionally serviced recently and runs strong. The serial number is 8682005 which dates it to 1899. To set the hands, pull the lever out near the 5:00 position and set with the crown. The original single sunk porcelain dial with Roman Numerals is in excellent condition with just two shallow edge chips which are covered mostly by the bezel, and the original matching deep blued steel hands are in excellent condition. The original large & heavy Fahy’s Oresilver highly polished nickel case has a threaded bezel & back, and is in fine condition with very light wear from use, no dents or engravings. The glass crystal is a new old antique stock replacement in near mint condition. The approximate case measurements are 2-3/16 inches in diameter (not including the bow & crown) x 7/8 inch thick including the crystal. The nickel crown is in fine condition, and the heavy nickel bow is also in fine condition. This is an outstanding antique survivor timepiece, one of the nicest one’s you will find! Great for your collection & use, or would make a fine gift! (My pictures have some shadows, reflections and dust spots that will be cleaned; the watch looks fine in person). Please note that a vintage watch may not be as accurate as a modern watch. Also, please realize that these early watches are not water resistant or waterproof. We are here after the sale and guarantee our restorations for 6 months. (We cannot guarantee a watch that has been rusted, tampered with or broken). The Post Office rates may be expensive which is beyond our control, we don’t add extra. Thanks for looking, and please check out our other auctions!
