  This huge 14K solid gold hunter case timepiece displays true to form Howard quality throughout. Leaf and flower patterns and an uninitialed shield decorate the front cover. Similar patterns along with a lakeside cabin and sailboat scene are displayed on the back cover. The center ring or frame of the case features a combination of readed and beaded designs. Although the case shows normal pocket wear from daily carry, the designs are worn but still visible. In spite of the wear, the case has remained very tight and well cared for. There are no dents, dings or deep scratches anywhere to be found and the case faces up very nicely. The front cover springs open sharply when released and stops just shy of 90 degrees as it should. The back and dust covers open in the same manner. The hinges are tight with no play or wobble in them at all. A readed ring surrounds the dust cover and all covers close tight leaving no play or gaps at all. The pumpkin style crown is sharp and the bow is tight. The case is marked B. W. C. Co. This case was manufactured by the Brooklyn Watch Case Co. The single sunk, white porcelain dial is marked E. Howard & Co – Boston. Black Roman hour chapters along with minute marks surround the dial and blue moon style hands center the dial. I can find NO hairlines, cracks or chips in the dial at all and the glass crystal is scratch free and set in a readed bezel. The N size (18), 15 jewel, Series IV, stem wind and set, Nickel, 3/4 plate movement is bright and beautiful displaying typical, E Howard superior quality! The plates are bright and crisp. Gold screw down jewel settings, bright blue plate screws and detailed damaskeening all highlight the movement. It is signed E. Boston – N. The serial number 49451 dates this piece back to circa 1880. The case covers are thick and heavy in gold and this timepiece is substantial when held in hand. Overall measurements of the timepiece are 58mm (2 1/4″) wide x 82mm (3 1/4″) from the top of the bow to the base of the case x 16mm (5/8) thick. Exact total weight of the watch is 161.5 grams (5.70 oz)! The watch winds and sets smooth. It is running strong and keeping excellent time. This timepiece was obviously carried on a daily basis. As you hold this piece in hand, its pretty easy to overlook the wear when noting how solid the case and hinges have remined. Most watches of this caliber and quality have been hoarded away in private collections. I search the market regularly for gold timepieces and watches like this rarely pop up anymore.   This is a very large & heavy American Gentleman’s Silver pocket watch, the watch retains its original white enamel dial & hands as well as what looks to be the original hand cut thich glass, its just totally original and comes from an old estate. The watch has a very low serial number for a Springfield at #806 its from the very first year of production in 1872 and the second grade to be made from what i can tell, it was started with the “Stuart” grade and then the “Mason”. The watch is not working and has imperfections, we have not tried to wind and the balance seems ok but is sticky and does not want to move freely, please assume it needs a full strip down and service at the very least. The case is incredible as the whole watch weighs just shy of 7 ounces troy!!! A massive solid Coin Silver case by Dueber with a makers symbol of an Anchor? The case is a very well made huge case but even has solid Gold hinges like all of the best Silver watch cases have. Size: approx 6 cm across the watch case.   This watch is a mens size 16 (55mm in diameter) housed in an oversized scalloped fancy gold filled hunter case. This watch is an extremely rare 17 Jewel 16 size Bunn Special Hunter. This is the 13. Watch ever made of all of the 16 size Bunn or Bunn Special Hunter watches! The 19J, 21J and 23J hunters were made after the 17J pieces. This is a first run piece. Specifically in relation to the 17 Jewel 16 size Bunn Hunters, there were only a total of 192 made across 2 small runs making this variant one of the rarest Bunn or Bunn Specials variants to collect. More specifically of the 192 made there were two variants. This watch being the very first run made of the two runs and only 100 exist of its type! The other run was made much later in the 3.3million serial number range. Not only is this piece the first run and the 13. Made of the first run of Bunn Hunters, this watch is the 13. Made of all Bunn and Bunn Specials ever made if you check the Illinois serial number records in the Illinois Watch Co book which I have and confirmed. An amazing piece of Bunn history here. The two 17J Bunn Hunter variants are not discussed or separated in the normal pocket watch price guide as they are just simplified there all under one banner, this variant should be listed as a 4 star rarity. There has not been many sightings of watches from this first run of 100 so this watch holds a much higher premium from what is listed in as book value. My watch here for sale with no enamel loss also being very early and potentially being the earliest 16s Bunn or Bunn Special hunter known existing to date! The movement itself is in very good condition as you can see with damaskeening still very bright and clear. All of the gold filled wording is still in tact as well which is fantastic! The movement has all of the high grade features that you would expect solid gold balance screws, solid gold gear train and solid gold jewel settings. The watch runs very well and sets very well. The movement is not original to the case so I will not guarantee that level of originality. I need to state this as some people expect a perfectly new movement as it came off the production floor when in fact this is over 100 years old and I do not have any idea of its history over that period. The serial number of the movement is 2577313. So this movement was the 13. 16s Bunn Hunter ever made. The double sunk Illinois dial is in fantastic condition. There are no chips or hairlines whatsoever that I can see and I have checked under the bezel. The crystal is in great condition with no chips or scratches. This Gold filled Wadsworth 25 year hunter case is a stunning piece and hard to find this oversized and with a scalloped edge, for such a special movement you have to have a special case. The case is fancy and shows some pocket smoothing and does have some wear through but only the high points of the scalloped edge and stem, as you can see it presents stunningly. All of the case lids open and close well and stay latched in place perfectly with absolutely no gaps. All of the case lids hinges are tight. A very large oversized watch to hold in your hand at 55mm diameter, most 16 size cases are 50mm in diameter. The watch is stem wound and the hands are lever set. The watch is currently running well and the hands set very well. You Illinois Bunn and Bunn Special collectors out there know these watches rarely come up for sale and this watch is priced very well so secure it quickly.   A really gorgeous Triple Case Ottoman verge fusee pocket watch. Made by the famous watchmaker Ralph Gout of London. The Verge Fusee movement has beautiful Egyptian pillars and a. Carved and engraved balance bridge, the movement is signed. Ralph Gout London (in Arabic text) and the number 233370. The movement is recently fully cleaned and serviced.   This is a HUGE antique GOLIATH DOXA RAILROAD open face pocket watch for restoration. Circa late 1800s to early 1900s. The large case measures 68.1mm in diameter. The white enamel MONTGOMERY style dial is in decent shape with hairlines and edge chips. The SILVER or NICKEL plated? Open case is in good shape with normal wear. The inner case is stamped. The movement is unmarked. Stem wind & nail or button set. It will run when you shake it but it appears to have a broken balance staff. Just to show how big this pocket watch is, I put it right next to an 18 size pocket watch (18s not included see photo below). This watch makes that 18 size look like a 6 size.
