Offered for sale is an antique American Waltham (USA) Model 1888 hunting case pocket watch, circa 1892. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 51mm (2) diameter. This watch features a Crescent Watch Case Co. Solid coin silver hunting case with multi-color gold overlay on the front and back, and fancy floral embossing around the edge. The front has a rose gold cartouche with initials engraved in it, and the back has a rose gold image of an elk. The watch also features an 11-jewel stem-wind stem-set movement, and a single-sunk porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and blue steel spade hands. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry. The dial is in excellent condition, showing some minor hairlines (not noticeable unless you look very closely). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. This pocket watch is as good as it gets! I will let the pictures do most of the talking. The case is a bit large for a 12 size at “48.26mm”. Movement is running strong. There is no wear present, close to NOS with only light signs of shelf wear. All hinges are tight and bow is firm. Front cover opens just a little past where it should. Total weight is 72.3 grams.
