Original Antique LONGINES Hunter Case Pocket Watch, in Very Good Original Condition. Movement : Manual hand-winding stem with lever setting, Caliber 18.50. Engined turned decoration on bridges. Black Arabic hour numerals. Outer minutes/seconds divisions with Arabic numerals for 24-hour reading. Subsidiary Dial for Seconds at 6 o’clock. Bued steel Spade and Whip set of hands. Hinged cover, back and dustproof cover. Crown and pendat bow at 3 o’clock. Plane bezel surrounding the dial, with acrylic crystal. Front, back and dustproof covers signed, and showing hallamrks and serial number: 3858243. Dimension : 50 millimeters diameter. Thickness: 13.5 millimeters. Condition : Very good and working properly. In spite to be a more than 100 year old watch, the case is in a fantastic condition, dial is excellent, and movement very clean. You will find just slight scratches, and some other deeper, surrounding the ledges of the back and dustproof covers, where watchmakers use a blade to open them (please check the larger photographs for details). VINTAGE POCKET WATCH Brand. ESTATE FIND, RUNS GOOD. 16 size, open face but SWISS MADE, probably for USA & Canadian market. Nice damaskeened finish on movement, shape reminds me of Longines. Movement looks clean, sets good, runs good. Service history unknown, not serviced y us, reliability & accuracy not guaranteed. Fortune 10K gold filled. Slight wear or brassing on sides, near cover & bezel. Front bezel screws good, as for the back cover. Measures about 50 mm wide, by 64 mm tall, including crown, by 15 mm thick. (Roughly 2″ wide by 2.5″ tall by 0.6 thick). This is an acrylic crystal that could be buffed. Tiny scratches as it is, but acceptable. 43.3 mm diameter. Has two dial repairs (chips painted white) 4 minutes & 45 minutes. All original three blue spade hands are there in very good condition. TOTAL WEIGHT OF WATCH: 87 grams. 1870’s PATEK PHILIPPE Antique Mens Midsize 50mm Hunter Case Pocket Watch – 18K Gold. It features a Patek caliber with moustache counterpoise, frosted gilt finishing, and unusual plate layout. It is original with a numbers matching case and is in pleasing condition. Its porcelain dial is in excellent original condition, and its case is in honest original condition with a few flat spots around the band. One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment. Its extremely fine original movement is running amazingly true – after more than 140 years it continues to keep chronometer grade time in four testing positions. Accompanying the watch is a period correct fitted box from “Bennet, Watchmaker to the Royal Observatory” that the watch was in when we acquired it. Please inquire if you would like a Patek extract for the watch. During the 1860’s and’70’s, Patek Philippe produced only fewer than approximately twenty watches per day (contrast this with Omega and other fine watch manufacturers that produced 500 – 1,200 pieces per day) making original examples very rare and collectable. Timepiece’s Finer Points. Dial : Porcelain, black painted Roman numerals and minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds, signed Patek Philippe Geneve, excellent condition with one short scratch near three and wear around the seconds bit, original and untouched. Crystal : Acrylic, excellent condition. Case : 18K gold, four-piece open face design with cuvette, signed Patek Philippe, approx. Bow/Crown : Gold, very good condition with fairly light wear to push button. Movement : Extremely high grade Patek Philippe pocket chronometer, unusual plate layour, moustache counterpoise, index regulator slightly shortened at tip, setting arbor escutcheon not present which doesn’t affect the watch, key wound and key set. Geneve, Aiguilles – the word “Ayer” has been lightly inscribed on the cuvette and is stamped on the inside of the back. Case condition: Honest original condition with a few flat spots/indentions around the case band. Case spring has lost its zest but opens just fine. The inner stamping protrudes just a bit through the outside of the case. Overall it presents honestly with no personalization on the outside. It doesn’t appear to have been overly polished and has nice normal engine turning detail. Dial: Porcelain, black painted Roman numerals and minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds, signed Patek Philippe Geneve, excellent condition with one short scratch near three and wear around the seconds bit, original and untouched. Hands: Original, blue steel, “spades”. Movement type: Extremely high grade Patek Philippe pocket chronometer, unusual plate layer, moustache counterpoise, index regulator slightly shortened at tip, setting arbor escutcheon not present which doesn’t affect the watch, key wound and key set.
