Small Antique Silver Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watch signed Geo Taylor London 1782

Small Antique Silver Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watch. Signed Geo Taylor London 1782. Needs some work, not presently working but complete. Complete with winding key. The gilt fusee movement with verge escapement is signed and numbered 8969. With square baluster pillars. Enamel convex dial with Arabic and Roman numerals and. Steel beetle and poker hands, enclosed under a bulls eye, domed glass. Both cases with the London hallmark for 1782 and maker’s mark IR. The outer case is 50mm in diameter. In the back of the outer case are four watchmakers repair labels the earliest one dated 1830 from Lerwick in the Shetland Islands. It is marked for a Mr A Smith, North Docks August 2 1830. Small Georgian par cased verge pocket watch c1780

A small Georgian pair-cased verge pocket watch c1780. The cases are tarnished and look to be brass which was originally gilded but most of this is worn off except for the inside of the inner case. The dial has hairlines as shown and original’beetle and poker’ hands are fitted which are in good condition. The crystal is an early high domed one (not bullseye) and looks contemporary. It could do with re-polishing to imorove clarity. Please see all pictures for measurements and condition details. Small antique silver pair cased verge pocket watch. The gilt fusee movement signed and dated 1816, numbered 656. We have just had the movement serviced, it is in good going order. Complete with winding key. White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and steel hands, enclosed under a bulls eye, domed glass. The dial has some fine hairline marks which are not as visible, as in the picture showing it, the picture has been enhanced to illustrate this. Verge fusee movement with pierced and engraved balance cock, three armed undersprung balance, Bosley style regulator and cylindrical pillars. The outer case 52mm diameter and 22.5 thick. Both cases with the London hallmark for 1815. There is an old watchmakers repair label in the outer case for a Plymouth maker. The item “Small antique silver pair cased verge pocket watch ElizTope. Hunting: The stem is at the 3:00 position, and the movement is meant to be mounted in a case that has a covering over the face.
