“M INTY” HAMILTON 992B RAILROAD GRADE POCKET WATCH. Because of my age I must sell watches in my collection. The 992B was the last Railroad Grade pocket watch designed by the Hamilton Watch Company. It took about 10 years, from 1931 to 1040, to complete the design. The first 992B from the new design was produced in 1940. Hamilton continued production of 992B’s for Railroad Service until they closed their doors in 1969. This marked the end of American made Railroad Grade pocket watches. This watch is a 1961, Model 5, 992B, 21 Jewels, Adjusted 6 Positions, with a Melamine 121 Heavy Gothic Double Sunk dial in a screw back and bezel Yellow Gold Filled Hamilton #17 case made by the Star Watch Case Company. The Model #17 case was introduced in 1957. This watch, movement SN C474967 was made in 1961. The movement was Produced, Cased and Timed at the Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The watch is in Excellent condition and keeps good time. I don’t know when it was last cleaned so to keep “Railroad Time” again it would need to be serviced.
