  The camera cannot capture the beauty of this early Hamilton 950 R. Grade pocket watch that is in a beautiful 14K Solid Gold open face case. This is absolute MUST have in your railroad watch collection! The 950s are hard to find! Especially, in this amazing condition! The case does have two separate hallmarks for the 14K solid gold on the inside of case and dust cover (See photos). Both the front and back of the case are hinged to open. All hinges and latches work as they should. The double sunk enamel dial is in near mint condition with no hairlines or chips on the dial. Black bold numbers and Champagne color hands with the perfect glass crystal. This watch is a stem wind and lever set. The lever is located at the “1”. The damskeening on this 23-Jewel movement is just absolutely breathtaking to see in person. This is adjusted for 5 positions. Motor barrel 23 Jewel. This watch has been fully serviced by our Certified Master watchmaker and keeps great time! Our watchmaker was also a railroad watch inspector many years ago and has been certified on regulating the time keeping on these railroad watches within a few seconds a day!   Scarce early 16 Size Waltham Riverside Pocket Watch circa mid-late 1880’s. A fairly low production model and not many survive from this period, it’s over 130 years old. Model 1872, 15 Jewels, Pendant Wind, Lever Set. In an also rare signed A. Coin edge solid Coin Silver case which is somewhat unique. The movement does not secure itself to the case in the common manner later 16 size movements do. Look closely and you will see no movement screws. Also the set lever is a broader style requiring a rather large cutout in the bezel. An interesting early design. The watch has a b. Eautiful dial with black Roman Numeral Hour Numbers and red Five Minute Numbers. Attractive “Moon” hour and minute hands. Nice thick glass crystal. It winds and sets properly. I checked the timekeeping over a few days, some days it ran well and was accurate. Other days it would stop entirely, or lose time. Assume the movement is past due for a routine cleaning, that will be left to the new owner. This watch came from a large collection of vintage and antique pocket watches, it’s history is unknown. Title: Early Peoria Watch Co. 15j Hunting Case movement #8685 circa 1888 Description: The Peoria Watch Company was formed in 1885 and a factory facility was completed in 1886 to house the watch making equipment from the Fredonia Watch Company and production began in late 1886. This example is serial number 8685 and is a 15 jewel hunting case movements that has been recased some time in the past. The watch appears to have a broken balance staff and the dial has some hairlines. Due to not having a crystal the watch lost it’s hands during storage.   Early Trenton 18 Size Antique Hunting Case Watch. This antique Trenton pocket watch is 18 size (case diameter 53 mm). This is a Model 2 made about 1890. The movement is 7 jewels and lever set. The dial is original and has several faint hairlines. The case is thin gold plate in pretty good shape outside as shown with a little brass showing but very little wear. The case lift spring does not work, so you have to open the front cover. This is an interesting and fairly scarce early American pocket watch. This watch runs but gains around 20 minutes per day, so it may need to be serviced, or may just have a dirty hairspring. Sorry, this is NOT a “Make Offer” listing.
