Up for sale is this amazing vintage. Vintage Silver Movado’Ermeto’ travelling watch in a sliding brown original crocodile case. The face is signed’Movado Chronometre Ermeto, Switzerland’. As the sliding covers are opened, a pinion on the winding stem is engaged. Which automatically turns the winding crown and winds the watch. An ingenious piece of horological engineering, each opening and closing of the case was designed to provide 4 hours of running time, therefore, the user was only required to open their watch 6 times a day to power it for 24 hours. The Ermeto was designed to be used with or without a chain and could simply be placed in a pocket or bag. The watch also has a small ring allowing it to be hooked on to a chain and carried as desired. Also on the back is swinging leg, so the watch can stand on it’s own.
