Offered for sale is an antique American Waltham (USA) Model 1888 hunting case pocket watch, circa 1892. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 51mm (2) diameter. This watch features a Crescent Watch Case Co. Solid coin silver hunting case with multi-color gold overlay on the front and back, and fancy floral embossing around the edge. The front has a rose gold cartouche with initials engraved in it, and the back has a rose gold image of an elk. The watch also features an 11-jewel stem-wind stem-set movement, and a single-sunk porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and blue steel spade hands. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry. The dial is in excellent condition, showing some minor hairlines (not noticeable unless you look very closely). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. A Great watch to carry everyday. Its a 15 jewel movement, 18SZ Runs good. It was just serviced, cleaned and oiled, keeps good time. The #s on the movement are, 5111162, made in 1894. This is a big watch, it measures from side to side 61.25 mm. The dial is clean with a hairline by the 7, you can see in the pictures. The glass is ok, has a few light scratches. Winds and sets smooth. The case looks good, has a few small dents and dings, which is normal for its age. Its a stem set and stem wind.
