This a great running rare Suburban Watch Co 30 minute chronograph. It was his personal watch and he was a watchmaker. The chrono resets to 12 and the watch keeps good time. The below info will show the rarity of this outstanding watch. Brand I think around the 1900. Henchoz Frères who opened the Suburban Watch Company was an independent watch maker. Henchoz Frères was founded around 1880 by the brothers Fritz Henchoz and Henri Auguste Henchoz in Le Locle. Around the turn of the century, i. Around 1900 , the two brothers separated. And each continued to run its own manufactory. Fritz Henchoz continued the company under the name F. After Fritz’s death, Henri Auguste Henchoz continued to run the company and named it Fils when his sons Auguste Alfred and Marcel Emile Henchoz joined. In 1913 the name Suburban Watch was registered. In 1914 the company won a gold medal at the Bern watch exhibition. In the early 1920s the company moved to Geneva. Henchoz Fils watches were also imported by A. Wittnauer in New York. Rockford Watch Company 18 size, 24 jewel 900 pocket watch. Open face, nice box hinge case. Stem wind, lever set. Note that the watch is currently running strong, but likely could use a professional cleaning. Dial is in very good condition – see close up pictures. Case is in pretty nice shape. It shows signs of wear appropriate for age of piece, a couple of small dings on the edges, but not i. A nice box hinge case you don’t find every day. This is a desireable movement – 24 jewel Rockford watches are desireable. Manufacture date is 1905 – 115 years old. Pictures are the best description – look them over carefully please. 16 size 21 jewel hunting case lever-set Grade 540 pocket watch. An excellent example of this scarce high grade watch, the total production of the Grade 540 was only 1050 made. This example is marked “RG” to its movement denoting railroad grade. Movement is an attractive 3-finger bridge style with striped damaskeen and with spiral damaskeen winding wheels. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial with script “Rockford” signature, and watch is housed in a 25 year gold-filled Keystone J. Boss case which appears to be likely its original and which has attractive engraving detail. Movement serial number is 546543. Running and a very nice looking movement with excellent color and luster. Dial is beautiful with only a few negligible glaze scratches. Case is in strong condition with attractive engraving detail showing some mild light wear. Case front opens to slightly short of 90 degrees, case cuvette is engraved with a 1908 presentation and has some scratches from slipped past openings.
