All our cases are ideal for Hebdomas and Hebdomas-style and chronograph pocket watch movements as well as Alpine, JWC Kal. 52 and 53, Longines, Moser, Omega, Tavannes, System Glashütte, etc. The watches pictured are samples of how the cases might be used and are not for sale. Our company is based in the UK. A top frame in a marriage watchcases usually being open only for installing of a movement. That is why we designed our cases with very tightly fit press closing top frame, which made it better moisture proof. To open it first loosen the frame by very lightly hammering a scalpel or any very thin blade into the gap in 2/3 places. It should make a small gap. Than use thinly sharpened back case opener or knife. Be careful not to scratch edges of both top frame and the case body. Our cases are designed to fit most sizes of movements. Nevertheless when installing any movement a slight adjustment of the case is required. For example, depending on the movement, a hole for a stem could be drilled in position 3 or 12 and a hole for a pusher in any appropriate position for a movement. The diameter of movements which can be fitted without any further adjustment to the case is 41.5 mm with a dial diameter of 43 mm. However using a watchmaker’s lathe our cases can be prepared for movements up to 44.5 mm and dials for up to 45 mm. It is worth noting that some movements have superfluous overhangs in the main plate. These could be easily turned, cutting down the diameter of the movement. When preparing antique movements for marriage watches we strongly recommend using a professional watchmaker familiar with the process.   Gold repousse pair cased pocket watch, verge – William West, London, 1769. Gold repousse pair cases, 48.5 mm. A London verge watch, in gold repousse pair cases. MOVEMENT : Gilded verge escapement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Four square pillars, silver regulator disk and blued screws. West, London and numbered (2982). The movement is in good original condition, and is running well. DIAL : The white enamel dial is in very good condition, with just a few light scratches, and no repairs or hairlines. Fine gold beetle and poker hands. INNER CASE : 22ct gold, hallmarked for London, 1769, makers mark IW. There is slight compression to the gold around the band, a few light bruises to the back and some bruises to the bezel. The stem has been reattached, but the stem and bow are in good condition and appear to be original. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The high dome bulls eye crystal is fine. OUTER CASE : A fine quality 22ct gold pair case with repousse decoration showing a classical scene. In good condition with just a little wear to the high points of the repousse work. The hinge and catch are fine and the bezel snaps shut firmly. There is a William West recorded in London from about 1723 until his bankruptcy in 1776.   Up for sale is a high grade Waltham 5 minute repeater hunting case restoration project. This watch is gold filled. The repeater slide appears to be gold. The case has several worn through areas in the gold. The bezel is missing, as are the hands. The porcelain dial is chipped. The movement is nickel and is high grade. The wheels, jewel settings and screws in the balance are gold. The movement runs and the repeater strikes. The setting lever is missing and the fourth wheel pivot is broken off, but otherwise the movement is in pretty good condition.
