The dial in very nice condition for its age. The blued steel poker hands with fleur de lis type designs also in very nice order. Large sub seconds dial. Also on the base of the inner case, there is a little flip switch that allows the watch to be stopped and started. Pair cased, meaning the outer case separates from the inner as shown in photos, the watch still has its original bullseye glass. Fully hallmarked solid silver for London 1852 on the inner case. Outer case is different hallmark and a bit earlier and is hallmarked for London 1818, so I think the outer case has been added later. Case width approx 62mm. Base to bow approx 80mm. Nice thick albert chain approx 13 inches in length and 7.5mm width. Very nice and heavy. Would make a super gift for a doctor or collector.   Gorgeous 23J 950-B Hamilton Pocket Watch. This watch runs and functions just exactly as it should. The original Hamilton case actually has a little bit of the factory finish lines left on the case. This case is gorgeous and shows no wear, it is truly a 9.8 out of 10. The movement is in great condition with no damage or rust. The dial has a few light spots but over all it is in nice condition as well, I have removed the bezel and took a close up photo of the dial and hands. Very nice original Bakelite box that the watch came in, these are very difficult to find and it adds a nice touch to this rare collectors item. Tell it was done opens – closes. The case back would. Not close flush closes now flush. A little tight still, this was. Bulldogs, the backs would not. Lock closed or close flush. Closes flush now and locks. Star W C Co. Dinged bad with soft brass. Threads on case middle body. So rethreaded case body and. Back closes ok, design now. Lines up with pendant, still. Little touchy but would not. Close at all and jammed before. Rethreaded it to many times. All Cases measured 4-40 threads. 23 – Two Views of Wrench. In proper position on base metal. Case back ready to rethread. And clean burrs off etc. 4Wrench ready to use. Tap in right hole plug and lock. Into thread with two sides of. The tap like a pyramid. 56 -Two types of thread count. Gauges to measure with. Thread gauge in position. 7– Ace is the place. 8All you need: 3 ½ inch spacers. 2 stainless or steel or brass. 4-40 ¾ inch bolts -1 4-40 tap. For 16 size case companies. Mentioned and A 6-32 tap for. Fahys 18 size cases. Not experimented or made one yet. 9– Trim bolt head a bit on grinder. To fit Jaxa case plug hole. 10–12- Completed tap plug in. Spacer and new tap unground yet. And tap out of the spacer and. Comparing a new tap. Ground tap ready to. 13 to 19– Location Location. 2021– Tap grinding on simple. Grinder, dip in water frequently. 22Snapping tap shank to size. After grinding simple way. 23Tool shown on Star W. Case body to rethread and cut the dings. 24Nice flush closing now and. Pattern now lines up with pendant. A 3 WEEK OLD IDEA WITH. LOTS OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. NEEDED, SO PASS THIS ALONG. HERE ARE THE COMMENTS FROM SATISIFIED MAKERS AND USERS OF THIS NEAT TOOL. I machined brass pins and then drilled and taped threads to accept the screws and tap. Works great perfect fit looking forward for the next course Doug. Comment from e bayer who made one , I made one of these per your info. It worked fine on a 16 size pocket watch back cover. However it didn’t work as well on the case itself.. One problem is that sometimes the 4-40 screws bottom before the tap. I suggest replacing them with unthreaded plastic posts. Don’t know if that will help but I will try that next. When using on the case body threads The tap and the 4-40 screws don’t fit between the threads and the stem holder. I plan to grind off one of the three legs of the tap so it will fit between the case body threads and either replace the 4-40 screws with unthreaded posts or grind one side of the screws so they will pass between the case threads and the stem. Another thing is the quality of the case opener. There is a lot of slop in the bit holders. The 4-40 tap should be in the bit holder closest to the handle. That one has the least slop especially in the in/out direction. Also the 2 plates of the case opener are held apart by 4 spacers. If you shorten the spacers for a tighter fit, that will reduce the slop. If the tap leans away from the threads that will cause it to remove more material from the top threads and less from the threads near the bottom. This could be why you couldn’t screw the case back all the way down. Keeping the tap more vertical will help that. Also in the past when I had a case back or bezel that was tight or felt rough I put a bit of Wenol or polishing paste on the case threads and then put the case back or bezel back on. Then as I watched TV I would screw them together and twist them back and for through the range of the fit until it felt smooth. This method removes material where there is interference. Of steel wool etc. FINE not Medium like HOme. Inpregnated paper from craft. Store- for the finest finish. From Sams Club or. Formica has some give or. Bounce to it so the hammer. Blow is not to stretch the. Metal but to spring it back in. Pink dish detergent is. To use with water and the. Bronze wool to remove most. Of the signs of the hammering. From inside case back after. Piece of very hard ¼ inch. Is placed between case dent. And punch- Now punch does. Not leave marks- The crystal. Will break away as time goes. On- but works very nicely leaving. Dents are being removed from. A nickel silver 16 size back. With small round deep dents. And general all over ripples. And a crease in an 18 size nickel. Case is the same operation but. Some gold filled is hardened. And works just like nickel and. Some is soft and stretches. And makes a bump instead of. Springing back so for each. Hit you get a new bump if you. Hit to hard, like later 992b s. Similar: Some silver cases are. Soft and thick and some are. Brittle and can crack if hit to. Often, hitting silver hardens it. Also and makes it brittle. The 16 size case back is full. Of ripples and deep dents and. Took a lot of hits all over and. Over and came out pretty good. But I had to use emery paper. To smooth it off and a buffer. With rouge and wax for a. Lubricant to smooth it out and. Then the fine ruby impregnated. Paper to take the swirl marks. Out by making finer marks but. In a straight line not swirls or. What is called a butler back f. You have to want a case. To take this much time to do. This- say an hour. The 18 size back with the. Ripple took 4 hits with the. Small iron stake, plastic crystal. In between it and back and. Plastic crystal broke a few. Small pieces off but crease. Came out nicely, then rub with. Bronze wool inside case back. And remove marks and looks. Harder: as you cannot buff or. Grind out the signs of hitting. Dents but can clean the inside. Case back up nicely, so be. Careful on chrome cases, hit. To hard and it stays that way. Unless your thumbs can press. It back a little in place. Practice makes nice work. And you feel good.   This is an extra nice “SUN & MOON” Fusee pocket watch. Make an Offer — All offers are welcome. This is a very rare watch and compared to other pocket watches only a few of these exist. Many pocket watch collectors have never seen a Sun & Moon watch. This watch only has a minute hand. The Sun & Moon travel in the window of the dial. You will notice the moon and the sun has a pointer that points to the Roman numerals to tell the hour. Then you look at the minute single hand for the minutes. The case covers open and close properly. The case is approximately 58mm, excluding the bow and winding stem. The movement looks clean & nice, and runs will for hours, and will stop running. It needs to be cleaned and/or oiled. The crystal is clear and very thick. The case has some wear and and small dings – over all excellent for it’s age. Both the inner and outer sterling cases have the same hallmarks. This watch appears to be all original. You will not be disappointed when you see this watch in person.   Up for sale is a really beautiful antique Elgin Veritas 18s Rail Road pocket watch. It is all original (apart from the case) and a Grade 214, made in 1900. It has a beautiful very high grade movement with 23 jewels! It is in a richly decorated gold filled case, which is in excellent condition! Movement : This watch runs great and keeps very good time. The beautiful original lever set movement is in excellent condition, and has 23 ruby jewels, adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism. It has a jeweled motor and sapphire pallets, with gold screw settings, gold balance weights and all gold gear train! This is an especially beautiful movement! Dial : The original double sunk dial is in excellent condition with just a tiny center chip. The hands are also original.   Up for sale is a beautiful 16s Elgin Veritas pocket watch. It was made in 1918 and has a very nice Rail Road grade 23 jewel movement, that is in excellent condition and runs great and keeps very good time. It is in a beautiful gold filled case with a stag decoration. Movement : This pocket watch is in very good running condition and it keeps very good time. The original beautiful Rail Road grade movement has 23 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions. It has a double roller, gold center wheel, gold screw settings and gold balance weights. This movement is in very good condition! Dial : The original double sunk Montgomery dial also is in very good condition but has a slight hairline. Case : The lovely gold filled B & B case is not the original, and is beautifully decorated with a stag design. It is in very good condition, with just a few light dings.
